Open Expeditions
We offer a choice of Bronze, Silver and Gold walking expedition programmes run by friendly and experienced leaders who specialise in DofE expeditions. These expedition programmes are ideal for individuals or small groups who cannot make their school’s dates or who don’t have a team to complete their expeditions with.

Expedition Format
Zest for Adventure’s Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Open Expedition Programmes comprise:

Training and Practice: 2 days (Bronze), 3 days (Silver), 4 days (Gold)

Qualifying: 2 days (Bronze), 3 days (Silver), 4 days (Gold)

The expeditions all involve carrying full expedition equipment and camping overnight. They are all compulsory: full and successful attendance at all of the required expeditions is necessary in order for participants to be eligible to complete the DofE Expedition Section. Any participants who miss any expeditions will need to arrange to complete them at a later date or on an open expedition with another approved expedition provider.
Bronze Open Expedition Programme
The following Bronze Open Expeditions are currently scheduled. Additional expeditions will be added in due course.

Price: £264.00 (£220.00 + VAT) for the complete programme or £192.00 (£160.00 + VAT) for the Training and Practice Expedition and £168.00 (140.00 + VAT) for the Qualifying Expedition.

Silver Open Expedition Programme
The following Silver Open Expeditions are currently scheduled. Additional expeditions will be added in due course.

Price: £360.00 (£300.00 + VAT) for the complete programme or £240.00 (£200.00 + VAT) for the Training and Practice Expedition and £216.00 (£180.00 + VAT) for the Qualifying Expedition.

Gold Open Expedition Programme
The following Gold Open Expeditions are currently scheduled. Additional expeditions will be added in due course.

Price: £456.00 (£380.00 + VAT) for the complete programme or £288.00 (£240.00 + VAT) for the Training and Practice Expedition and £264.00 (£220.00 + VAT) for the Qualifying Expedition.

The price includes:

Team equipment: tents, stoves (but not pans), fuel, compasses. maps

Any transportation required whilst on expedition

Booking Process
Please download the booking form and complete electronically, then save a copy for your records and email back to us. As long as the form is sent from the parent/guardian email address given on the booking form, the signature may be typed. Payment should be made by bank transfer, using the participant's name as a reference.
